California Primary Care Association (CPCA) Advocates is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization dedicated to advancing the mission of community health centers through state and federal advocacy. CPCA Advocates (Advocates) is the advocacy affiliate of the California Primary Care Association and advocates on behalf of 1,302 community health centers that provide care to 7.8+ million patients – that’s 1 in 5 Californians. We are the statewide advocacy arm for community health center and focus on grassroots advocacy, education, public affairs, lobbying, and candidate engagement to uplift the health center voice. CPCA Advocates was formerly known as CaliforniaHealth+ Advocates, which was founded in 2016 as a 501(c)(4) organization to allow for the flexibility and capacity to engage in political activity and fight for community health centers and the communities they serve. The organization was renamed and rebranded in 2023 to allow for better alignment with the community health center mission.
The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is committed to giving health center advocates the tools they need to make their voice heard and help us educate our communities about community clinics and health centers.
HANC conducts local, regional, statewide and Natinoal policy and advocacy activities on behalf of its member organizations. Check out HANC’s Policy and Advocacy landing page and Policy Program Overview one-pager to learn more.
