The Northstate Referrals is a website where primary care physicians and specialty care providers in Northern California can come together online and easily manage patient referrals. Our web-based system streamlines the referral ordering process and allows for fast and secure communication without the need for a fax machine. Using our system can save time and money while also cutting down on paper waste.
The Northstate Referrals portal allows doctors or medical staff to log in and submit referrals online to any participating specialist. The specialist is immediately notified through the secure portal of pending requests and can review the incoming referrals before accepting or rejecting each one.
In this organized manner, two way digital communication is securely established between the referring primary care clinic and specialist's office.

www.NorthstateReferrals.org utilizes a web-based patient referral system that incorporates clinical rules of a physician's practice design along with flexible order processing capabilities. The system was designed to manage patient referrals between Primary Care Providers (PCPs), Hospitals, and Specialists.
Our system provides a unique confirmation number for each referral order placed. Each order is individually tracked from start to finish. The audit log captures every interaction with a user identification number and timestamp.
Once the referral is accepted by a specialty office, a notification is automatically sent back to the referring provider. After the patient is seen the consultation results and recommendations are uploaded to our secure and a notification that results are available is sent to the referring office. If the patients fails to show, a notification is sent back to the referring provider.
